All-you-can-drink in Tokyo, and how nomihodai actually works

Nomihodai means all you can drink. You pay a fixed price and order from a set drink list for a fixed window, usually ninety minutes or two hours. Last orders often come fifteen to thirty minutes before the end, so the final round is called earlier than you expect.
The rules vary by restaurant. Some sell the package on its own, others only include it with a food course. Everyone at the table may have to take the same plan, many places ask you to finish one drink before ordering the next, and premium sake, wine or draft beer can sit outside the standard list.
A low advertised price does not always mean a cheap night. A 550 yen package can require a full food course, while a more expensive plan may include dinner and a far better drink list. Check the total, the time limit and what is actually included before booking.
The nine below each qualify for one of three reasons. Some carry an unusually broad selection of sake, wine or Korean drinks. Some attach the package to a meal that would cost considerably more on its own. The cheapest turns the whole thing into a self-service bar charged in thirty-minute blocks. Prices and terms were checked against each restaurant's own booking page or listing in September 2026, and conditions change, so confirm the specific plan when you reserve.

A yakiniku room in Kabukicho that pairs beef with wine rather than the usual beer list, which is where its drink package gets interesting. The unlimited option runs to 65 or more drinks and can be taken on its own rather than only as a course add-on.

Torarenbo Yaesu
A minute from Tokyo Station's Yaesu north exit, serving seasonal Japanese food with sake drawn from across the country. The standard party course includes an unlimited drink list, and 500 yen on top swaps it for twenty kinds of sake.
Course plus unlimited drinks runs 4,800 yen for the ten-dish plan, 5,200 yen for eight dishes, and 7,400 yen for twelve. The twenty-sake upgrade is a flat 500 yen more. Course only, not sold standalone. Checked September 2026.

A Korean restaurant in Shin-Okubo whose unlimited list is far broader than the makgeolli it is known for, covering roughly 120 drinks including beer, highballs, sours, Korean spirits and several makgeolli.
Ninety minutes at 1,320 yen or two hours at 1,650 yen, with a lunch price of 1,078 yen for ninety minutes. Sold standalone. Two people minimum, and the late-night plan asks each person to order one dish. Checked September 2026.

Yanaka, and the clearest expression of the idea on this list. The course pairs yakiniku with unlimited self-service access to about sixty sakes, alongside beer and soft drinks, and the kitchen is produced by the team behind Nikuyama.
Nine thousand yen including tax for the full course and two and a half hours of drinks. Course only. Bringing your own bottle is permitted, which is unusual. Book well ahead, the room is small. Checked September 2026.
Nagahide Shibuya Shinsen Honten
永秀 渋谷神泉本店
A yakiniku room in Shinsen, a few minutes west of Shibuya, where every course tier includes unlimited drinks rather than selling them separately. The list runs to shochu and wine alongside the usual beer, and the draw here is the meat rather than an unusual drink selection.
Three course tiers, all with unlimited drinks included and all priced with tax. Twelve dishes at 6,500 yen, fourteen at 7,500, and fourteen with special Wagyu at 8,500. Course only, and private rooms are available for groups. Checked September 2026.

A small Kamiosaki restaurant serving creative izakaya cooking, and the longest unlimited window on this list by some distance at three hours.
Five hundred and fifty yen for three hours, but only with a food course, so the drink price is not the price of the night. Reserve the named plan rather than ordering at the table. Checked September 2026.

An Akasaka sushi counter where every course includes the drink package rather than selling it separately, so there is no decision to make at the table.
Courses start at 14,900 yen including tax and rise to 17,800 and 23,000 yen. What the unlimited list covers changes with the course, and some premium sake carries a supplement. Course only, booking required. Checked September 2026.

The cheapest unlimited drink here by a wide margin, and a genuine self-service bar rather than table ordering. More than thirty drinks are on it, including draft beer, highballs, sours, shochu, sake and wine.
