- The Harajuku store of NEIGHBORHOOD, the Japanese label rooted in motorcycle and military clothing

38 clothing, menswear, jewelry and vintage stores across nine Tokyo areas, picked by Edison Chen, Poggy, Yoon Ahn, W. David Marx, Awich and other guests of Isaac Hindin-Miller’s Best of Tokyo series. Designer flagships, Ura-Harajuku labels, a bespoke tailor and a silversmith with a lottery at the door.
Last updated
This guide starts from a compilation from Isaac Hindin-Miller’s Best of Tokyo series (@isaaclikes_), where he asks his guests where they shop. The answers ran from designer labels to a shirt maker, from a silver jeweler to a used-clothing chain. Harajuku and the back streets of Ura-Harajuku hold nearly half the stores mapped here, Aoyama and Ebisu carry the designer stores, and the vintage picks spread west to Shimokitazawa, Koenji and Kichijoji. Where a guest named only a brand, we mapped one Tokyo branch, and each card notes any entry rule or appointment so you know before you go.
The Video Behind This Guide
Isaac Hindin-Miller (@isaaclikes_) compiled this video from his Best of Tokyo interviews, filmed in Tokyo and elsewhere. Names do not appear on screen, so each Picked by credit below comes from that guest’s own episode. Every store in this guide was named in the video, and the sections below map them by neighborhood.

Start at Meiji-jingumae Station and pick a few stops on either side of Omotesando. The shops run from Jingumae 1 chome to 6 chome, and NEPENTHES sits toward the Omotesando end, so take it on the way to Aoyama.

Most Shops Open Late Morning or Later
Many of these stores open at 11am or noon, and several smaller ones not until 1pm or 3pm. Plan the Harajuku loop for the afternoon, apart from goro’s morning lottery, and check each shop’s closed days before choosing your route.
Group Your Route by Area
Harajuku and Ura-Harajuku hold seventeen of these stores within walking distance, so give that a full afternoon. Continue toward Omotesando Station to add the Aoyama shops. Ebisu and Nakameguro pair well together, and the west side picks each deserve their own trip.
Know the Entry Rules Before You Go
Check goro’s eligibility rules before choosing a day, since its lottery starts in the morning. Tailor Caid works by appointment and needs a return fitting six to eight weeks after ordering. Several shops are upstairs, so use the building and floor on each card.
Tax-Free Shopping (Rules Change November 1, 2026)
Tax-free availability varies by store, so carry your passport and ask. Through October 31, 2026, eligible visitors get the exemption at purchase. From November 1, 2026, you pay the tax-inclusive price first and leave Japan with the goods within 90 days. Complete the customs check before checking the bag that holds them, and the retailer or its refund provider then returns the tax. The method varies by store.
Every store here was named in a compilation video by Isaac Hindin-Miller (@isaaclikes_), which gathers answers from his Best of Tokyo interviews, some of them filmed outside Tokyo. Each Picked by credit comes from that guest’s own episode. Where a guest named only a brand, we mapped one Tokyo branch and added the practical details each store needs.
Start in Harajuku, including the back streets of Ura-Harajuku, if you want Japanese labels, select shops, vintage and resale in one walkable area. Aoyama is focused on designer labels, and Shimokitazawa and Koenji are the places to go for vintage.
Only through its entry lottery, and only on days you are eligible. The posted rules ask overseas visitors to arrive by 10:45am with a passport and a round-trip ticket, limit entry to once a month, and ask visitors not to bring anyone under 18. Some dates are restricted by birth month, and payment is cash only. Check the official schedule at goros.com before choosing a day, since the rules change.
KAPITAL runs several stores in Ebisu, and this guide maps its Naked Store there. visvim has more than one Tokyo shop, and this guide maps WMV visvim Tokyo in Aobadai, a short walk from Nakameguro Station. Both are in the Ebisu and Nakameguro section above.
In Harajuku, try chillweeb for anime T-shirts and Chicago, CASANOVA VINTAGE or KINJI for broader racks. blue room in Shibuya focuses on streetwear from the 1990s and 2000s. For a bigger day, go to Shimokitazawa or Koenji. Our secondhand and vintage guide covers those neighborhoods in more depth.

46 streetwear destinations across six Tokyo neighborhoods. Where the Japanese originals still run the culture, which international flagships are worth the detour, and where vintage and resale hold the archive.

42 pre-owned luxury and vintage shops across 10 neighborhoods. Where the authenticated bags are, where the vintage racks run deepest, and how to shop it tax-free.

36 shops from 24 makers and retailers, across seven neighborhoods. Each one labelled by kind, from brand stores selling their own line to multi-brand specialists for comparing houses, reproduction houses, and indigo and design stops.
